Motiva Implants® in Malaysia: How much does it cost?

In today’s world, breast augmentation is becoming more and more popular. Foreign patients do have a lot of options when it comes to where they want to have the operation. They may seek a more convenient country where the price for breast augmentation is cost-friendly without compromising the quality of medical service.

Asia is one of the hotspots for cosmetic surgery. Asian countries like Singapore, the Philippines, and  Malaysia are seeing an influx of these foreign patients because these countries are so accessible when it comes to transportation while maintaining competitive medical facilities and equipment under the supervision of their experienced surgeons. At the same time, it’s cost-friendly for both local and foreign patients.

Malaysia is one of the countries that recently opened its borders because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has paved the way for foreign patients to resume their delayed appointments and consultations with their Malaysian surgeons.

But, why do foreign patients prefer to have breast augmentation in Malaysia? What’s the procedure for breast augmentation? What is Motiva Ergonomix®? How much does it cost? We will look into that now.

What is Breast Augmentation?

The breast of a woman symbolizes her femininity and youth. Over time, the breasts lose their elasticity and volume due to several natural factors such as pregnancy, aging, breast asymmetry, sagging, and many more. For other women, this is quite a challenge for them because not only does it affect the aesthetics of their physical body, but it greatly affects their self-confidence as a woman.

Breast augmentation is one way to restore or enhance the aesthetic projection where the breast implants are inserted into the patient’s chest so they can enhance their breast profile, shape, and volume.

What is included in a Breast Augmentation Procedure?

Breast Implants

Breast implants are the main medical device used in breast augmentation. If you’re looking for breast implants that are designed to give your breasts a natural look and feel, then Motiva Ergonomix® would be a good choice for you.

It is a 6th-generation silicone breast implant that is made to change its shape and move like real breasts. The breast implants retain their round shape when you are lying flat, but change to a teardrop shape when you are standing up. Additionally, it offers other safety features.

One of its safety features is the SmoothSilk®/SilkSurface®. It has a biocompatible nanotextured smooth surface that minimizes implant complications, including multiple capsules, late seroma, implant rupture, and many others, by reducing inflammation.

Establishment Labs®, the creator of Motiva® implants, acknowledges the fact that the surgeon must also get involved when it comes to examining the breast implants before they insert them into the patients. It is why they added a safety feature called  BluSeal®. It is a layer present in Motiva Ergonomix®. Its blueish color makes it easier for surgeons to visually inspect the implants to see whether there is any gel bleeding, implant shell compromise, or ruptures.

The quality of the gel is one of the most crucial parts of a silicone breast implant. Not only is it the one that fills up the implant, but the materials used would help keep the breast implant intact while providing a natural look and feel for it. The ProgressiveGel Ultima® is a high viscosity gel that fills the implants. It smoothly adapts and follows the movement of the breasts like breast tissue, while giving a fuller projection.

Other patients do tend to misplace their things, including the implant card, where all the information about the breast implant is stored. Don’t worry, Establishment Labs® created a feature which allows your surgeon to instantly check your breast implant information with the help of a scanner.

All Motiva Ergonomix® Implants have Q-Inside® Safety Technology, or simply Qid®.  With its Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) being inside of the breast implants, it allows your surgeon to easily check your information even outside of the body just by scanning it over the breast.

Surgery Fee

The surgery fee may vary and depends on the Malaysian hospital or clinic where you will have your breast augmentation. It’s estimated the price range would be USD3,502. -$11,829, but this may change depending on your surgeon.

Medications

After your surgery, the surgeon will prescribe the needed medications such as painkillers and antibiotics to help you manage the pain and prevent infection. Always take your medicine on time. If you have an allergy to certain medications, do inform your surgeon about it prior to the surgery.

Compression Garment

Gravity is one of the factors which causes the breast to sag. With your new breast implants, you will feel a bit of weight. To support and get accustomed to the new weight, you would need a compression garment.

The surgeon will be there  to assess your case during your recovery. You’ll need something that is designed to stabilize and protect your breast throughout as you heal. It is recommended that your compression garment doesn’t have any underwriting and is made of fabric materials. You also want it to be easy to adjust to a variety of shapes and sizes, so it may help you achieve the results you’re expecting from your breast augmentation.

Post-Operative Follow Up

It may be ideal to have a companion to follow you when going for the follow up. If you are riding public transport in Malaysia to get to your clinic or hospital for the post-operative follow-up, you should wear comfortable clothing so it will be easier for you to move about. Once you arrive at the clinic or hospital, your surgeon will examine your breast implants and their current state. You may freely ask your surgeon if you have any concerns about it. This will help you gain more information about your current state. You’ll also learn dos and don’ts during your recovery.

If you like drinking alcoholic beverages, you must abstain from drinking them in the meantime to help you speed up your healing. This also applies to smokers. You must keep yourself hydrated at all times, and you may increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Cost of the Motiva Implants Breast Augmentation Procedure

Just like the surgery fee, the cost of the Motiva implant® breast augmentation procedure may vary and depends on the Malaysian hospital or clinic. However, the estimated cost for this would go from MYR 20,000- MYR 25,000.
